Program Description

Event Details

For International Holocaust Remembrance Day, CLPL is honored to welcome Holocaust Survivor Steen Metz, who was only 8 years old when his parents and he were arrested and deported to Theresienstadt Concentration Camp from Odense, Denmark in October of 1943. Out of 15,000 children that passed through Theresienstadt, Steen is one of fewer than 1,500 who survived. Steen has made it his life's work to share his experiences with as many people as possible. Since 2012, he has made almost 800 group presentations and reached over 115,000 people.

NOTE:  This program will be held in the auditorium of Husmann Elementary School across the street from the Crystal Lake Public Library.
