Program Description

Event Details

McHenry County Assessor Alex Benitez, McHenry County Clerk Joe Tirio, and McHenry County Treasurer Donna Kurtz will lead a panel discussion on the ABCs Of McHenry County Property Taxes.  The presentation will include the following topics:

  • Understanding your tax bill
  • Applying for exemptions such as Senior Freeze and Homestead
  • How to appeal your assessment
  • How your tax bill is built
  • How voters change tax bills
  • How to set up Fraud Alert to protect your property
  • Hands-on demonstrations of Property Tax Tools you can use.

All participants will receive a reference guide to take notes and use at home.
