Program Description

Event Details

Come on a journey back in time as local educator Sarah Taylor takes you from earth to kitchen, exploring historic native plants, including their use in herbal teatime traditions and the science behind  modern-day culinary practices. Sarah works at the Crystal Lake Park District's National Historic Landmark, The Colonel Palmer House, and she will explain the ways plants have been used by Indigenous people and early settlers in our area. She'll also feature a hands-on project for creating your own tea blend.
